Puppy Vaccine Protocols

First visit puppy will receive:

1.Exam

2.DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)

3.Fecal – a lab test on a stool sample (feces) to test for internal parasites. When a

fecal is performed, the technician is actually looking for parasite eggs.

4.Strongid – T (dewormer)

5.Heartworm Preventive (Advantage-Multi)

6.Puppy Informational Packet, leash, brochures, and toy.

Second visit (age 9 – 10 weeks) puppy would receive:

1.Exam

2.DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)

3.Bordetella (Kennel Cough) – minimum age requirement is 8 weeks, given intranasally but may also be given SQ for these puppies who reject the intranasal. – a follow-up booster will be given in 3-4 wks (Intranasal)

4.Canine Influenza Vaccine

5.Strongid -T (dewormer)

6.Heartworm Preventive (Advantage-Multi or Trifexis)

Third visit (age 12 – 13 weeks) puppy would receive:

1.Exam

2.DHLPP (1 year) (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)

3.Strongid -T (dewormer)

4.Bordetella (Kennel Cough) (Injectable)

5.Canine Influenza Vaccine

6.Heartworm Preventive (Advantage-Multi or Trifexis)

Fourth visit (age 15-16 weeks) puppy would receive:

1.Exam

2.DHLPP (1 year) (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)

3.Rabies (1 year) Initial vaccine, 2nd to be given <365 days from this date to qualify for 3yr.

4.Fecala lab test on a stool sample (feces) to test for internal parasites. When a  

fecal is performed, the technician is actually looking for parasite eggs.

5.Heartworm Preventive (Advantage-Multi or Trifexis)
